Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing is the world’s fastest growing watersport, not to mention the most exhilarating. It is one of the most fun, challenging and progressive sports you can do. The concept of kitesurfing is quite simple. A kitesurfer stands on a small surfboard, like a wakeboard, takes a really big kite with inflatable sections to allow it to be water-relaunchable, and harnesses the power of the wind to propel themselves across the water. It’s a dynamic sport that can be a soulful cruise or adrenaline flowing aerial display. It can be done on flat water or curling surf in winds ranging from 8 to 40 knots.

Kitesurfing is the perfect combination of sports including surfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and paragliding. In terms of progression, kitesurfing has taken the best elements from its sister sports and fused them all together lending to some of the most radical freestlye moves, fastest speeds, and the highest jumps experienced through wind power. The sport has even adopted elements from skateboarding by using floating ramps and rails to do various spins and manoeuvres.

The light and compact nature of the kitesurfing equipment makes it ideal for travel and adventure to new locations around the globe. With the sport being open to all age groups and done in nearly every country worldwide, kitesurfing is an excellent way of meeting like-minded people and forging friendships.

Ireland is one of the premier locations to kitesurf in the world. We have miles of idyllic and unspoiled coastline, and we receive clean and constant wind due to our exposed position. There is no better place or time to learn: that’s where we come in…
